Chinese New Year is around the corner. I’ve been thinking of getting myself a cheongsam this year. Wish to get something that look like those below (which design is nicer?). I don’t want those that is too traditional. Wonder if I would look nice in a halter neck cheongsam. Hmmm…gotta began my CNY shopping spree soon. I don’t wish to do last minute shopping again for this year.

Take a look at an apple tree. There might be five hundred apples on the tree, each with ten seeds. That’s a lot of seeds. We might ask, “Why would you need so many seeds to grow just a few more trees?”
Nature has something to teach us here. It’s telling us: “Most seeds never grow. So if you really want to make something happen, you had better try more than once”.
This might mean:
- You’ll have to attend twenty interviews to get one job.
- You’ll have to interview forty people to find one good employee.
- You’ll have to talk to fifty people to sell one house, car, vacuum cleaner, insurance policy, or an idea.
- You’ll have to meet a hundred acquaintances to find one special friend.
When we understand the Law Of Seed, we don’t get so disappointed. We stop feeling like victims. Laws of nature are not things to take personally. We just need to understand them and work with them.
Successful people fail more often but they plant more seeds. When things are beyond your control, here’s a recipe for permanent MISERY:
a) Decide how you think the world SHOULD be.
b) Make rules for how everyone SHOULD behave.
Then, when the world doesn’t obey your rules, get angry!
That’s what miserable people do!
Let’s say you expect that:
Friends SHOULD return favors.
People SHOULD appreciate you.
Planes SHOULD arrive on time.
Everyone SHOULD be honest.
Your spouse SHOULD remember your birthday.
These expectations may sound reasonable. But often, these things won’t happen! So you end up being upset, frustrated and disappointed. There’s a better strategy. Have less demands. Instead, have preferences! For things that are beyond your control, tell yourself: “I WOULD PREFER “A”, BUT IF “B” HAPPENS, IT’S OK TOO!” This is really a game that you SHOULD play in your head. It is a shift in attitude, and it gives you more peace of mind.
You prefer that people are polite …..
BUT when they are rude, it doesn’t ruin your day.
You prefer sunshine …..
BUT when it rains, it’s ok!
To become happier, we either need to:-
a) change the world, OR
b) change our thinking.
It is easier to change our thinking than changing the world!
“It’s not what happens to you that determines your happiness. It’s how you think about what happens to you.”
Carmen sent me a link to tell/show me that one of her friend is getting married (I duno him). After reading his post, out of a sudden I decided to blog about this. It kinda strikes me when he said about girls don’t like flowers. This is what he wrote:-
“I don’t like Flowers~!!
This words came out from not only her mouth but most girls I know!
A message 4 other guys! All girls love flowers!!….dun buy their bullshit when they say that they hate flowers! the more they say that, the more u need to get 4 them! girls just hate to watch flowers die slowly but bare this in mind….
Flowers may only last a few days 2 a week but it will be in the girls heart n memories for lifetime……thats what matters most~~”
I do agree with him to a certain extent that “girls hate to watch the flowers died slowly” (especially it’s from their love ones) and “it will remains in the girls’ heart forever as their lifetime memory” (who on earth don’t like receiving flowers?).
However, I personally don’t think that when a girl say they dislike flowers, it’s totally bullshit. It really depends on individual. For me, it’s not a bullshit at all. Some girls really do not like flowers and I am one of them. I do admit if I receive flowers in the office (I said “if” coz I never receive any tho - “hint hint”), I only enjoy the attention that I get from others (who do not like to be envied?). It will become a big hoohah for everyone in the office. But if you ask me whether do I like the flowers? Seriously, the answer is NO. I really have no idea what I should do with the flowers after that.
6 little tips for the guys who has a girlfriend that hates/dislikes flowers just like me :-
(1) Don’t simply buy them flowers at any occasions. Only buy them flowers on “very” special occasions. (Else your flowers will only end up in the bin. Remember “very” special occasions only.)
(2) Don’t buy them too large bouquet of flowers. A few stalks will do. i.e. 1 or 3 ( Coz we don’t know what to do with the flowers after that. Btw, can save your wallet too as big bouquet cost big bucks.)
(3) Don’t ever choose flowers that are big or with big petals and striking colors i.e. sunflowers. (You will annoyed them and make them look stoopid. I mean the big flowers make us look stoopid lah. Be really careful when choosing flowers. Buy rose is the safest.)
(4) A big No-No for these flowers - carnation (you will make them think that they are like you mom or teacher- so old & naggy), chrysanthemum (it’s only for the dead), bird’s paradise (it’s for the dead also)
(5) If your girlfriend loves/enjoys chocolates like me, get them a bouquet of choc flowers instead of real flowers. (Trust me, you can make her cry with joy!!!)
(6) Lastly, if you really plan to send her a bouquet of flowers, make sure you send it to her office where she can get attentions. Be very careful on the quantity as different quantity resembles different meaning. (Although she don’t like the flowers but she will enjoys the attention that she will get from her colleagues).
Well, all the above are just my personal opinion. Hope my RM0.02 is worth sharing especially when the Valentine’s Day is around the corner. You can disagree with me and feel free to share your thoughts me.
Yawnnnnnnnn. It’s time for me to go to bed now and I miss my baby sooooo much who is still in L.A now. Nitez !!!
