Dim Sum Lunch
Had lunch at Shangri-La for dim sum today. Erm…the dim sum was okay. Nothing great. For the same price you are paying here, I can say that you can get better dim sum else where. Worst, they do not have many choices for you. As for desert, I had the durian pan-cake. However, I still prefers the one at Mandarin Oriental. Theirs is still the best durian pan-cake so far I have ever tried.

Dinner @ Antique Restaurant
Why did I call it an antique restaurant? Because everything looked so antique in this restaurant. Me and my family went to Sek Yuen Restaurant @ Pudu for dinner (one of the historical restaurants in KL). It was run by those old folks where they started their business many many years ago. You can see their tables, chairs, fan, clock, and including their waiters were old. No joke, man!!! Even the crew (cooks) in the kitchen were all “old old”!
As for the food, what really impress me were their noodles. The taste of their noodles were kinda special. The style of cooking it was just different from many other restaurants out there. My dad said that this was the kind of taste back to the old days. Many people now do not know how to cook it in this style nowadays. But I do not know how true was that lar. I was not even born yet in those days. Lolz!

A scene from the kitchen. Notice the old man there? He is one of the cook.

Calculator not allowed! Only for abacus !!!

Notice the chinese wordings that look like a tea-pot? I wonder what it means.

One of the chef’s antique car. Cool eh?

Some of the dishes I tried there but was so-so only. The noodles still the best among the rest. Guess what? They serve you the dishes with those old fashioned plate. Btw, please do not mind my poor camera skill. Hehe.
